About the Team
Our Commercial team covers every aspect of a commercial transaction and contract, working with blue‑chip companies across a national and international client base. Rebecca Howlett leads the Oxford team and is listed as a Recommended Lawyer by The Legal 500 (2023). She also heads up Freeths Virtual Legal Team.
About the Role
This exciting opportunity offers the successful candidate support across a range of interesting and complex matters, with excellent opportunities for professional development. We’re looking for a lawyer with circa four years’ PQE+, gained within a strong commercial practice. The role can be adapted to the level of experience of the chosen candidate.
Your Skills & Qualifications
* Directly relevant previous experience with the correct level of PQE for the role.
* Strong commercial acumen and industry understanding.
* Proven track record of competent financial management, meeting client expectations and sound case management skills.
* Self‑motivated, friendly individual with excellent interpersonal skills.
* Consistently demonstrates and embodies the firm’s values.
* Good IT skills and confidence using case management systems, electronic time recording and general Microsoft packages.
Key Expectations
* Work consistently at a high level and provide exemplary client service and care.
* Competent financial management and commercial awareness, including accurate time recording, billing, achievement of firm‑delivered targets and management of WIP.
* Actively contribute towards business development opportunities to ensure retention of existing clients and expansion of business.
* Maintain up‑to‑date technical expertise at all times.
* Be competent in accordance with SRA competence standards.
