A well-regarded primary school in Harlow is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a child with Special Educational Needs (SEN). This is a full-time position starting immediately, offering a rewarding opportunity to make a real impact on a child’s learning journey. You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver personalised support, helping the child to engage, progress, and thrive both academically and emotionally. Key Responsibilities Provide 1:1 support for a pupil with SEN, adapting activities to meet individual needs. Encourage engagement, confidence, and independence in learning. Implement behaviour and learning strategies under the guidance of the SENCO and class teacher. Support social and emotional development, promoting positive interactions with peers. Monitor and record progress, sharing feedback with teaching staff and parents. Contribute to creating an inclusive and supportive classroom environment. What We’re Looking For Experience working with children with SEN (Autism, ADHD, or SEMH needs desirable). A patient, empathetic, and nurturing approach. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
