Project Quantity Surveyor – Heavy Civils / Infrastructure

Rate: £450 per day/ £90 000

The Role
An opportunity for an experienced Project Quantity Surveyor to join a major infrastructure delivery team working on bridges, tunnelling and heavy civils projects. This is a hands-on, site-facing role with a strong focus on labour and plant cost control, commercial governance and NEC contract administration.
You’ll be supporting the commercial delivery of complex civil engineering works, working closely with site teams to ensure projects are delivered efficiently, compliantly and profitably.

Key Responsibilities
Commercial and contractual management of live infrastructure projects
Administration of NEC3 / NEC4 contracts, including Early Warnings and Compensation Events
Cost control focused on labour, plant and prelims
Preparation of project budgets, forecasts and cost plans
Measurement of works and preparation of interim applications
Subcontract procurement, order placement and administration
Assessment and certification of subcontractor applications
CVRs and monthly commercial reporting
Supporting risk management, value engineering and cost recovery
Preparation and negotiation of final accounts
Assisting with tendering and commercial input where required
Ensuring compliance with commercial procedures and H&S standards
About You
Proven experience as a Project Quantity Surveyor within heavy civils or infrastructure
Strong background in labour- and plant-led projects
Solid understanding of NEC contracts
Comfortable operating in a site-based, delivery-focused environment
Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail
Degree-qualified or equivalent experience in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
Professional membership (RICS / CIOB / ICES) desirable but not essential
