To undertake reception and clerical duties, provide an accurate and efficient data entry service of patient information within the Obstetrics & Gynaecology service. Support the nursing/midwifery and medical staff as appropriate. To support antenatal and gynaecology booking and reception.
Main duties of the job
Arrange all Obstetric & Gynaecology clinics, using the CareFlow, eRS and Soliton systems ensuring all NHS targets and Government waiting list deadlines are met and inform the line manager if the deadlines cannot be achieved.
Work closely with the midwifery and nursing staff to ensure the smooth running of all outpatient clinics held in the Obstetric and Gynaecology Clinic area at Stoke Mandeville Hospital.
Register, collate and enter onto the computer system all patient records. Gather, input and amend data on the CareFlow system including registering new patients, and undertake filing of all relevant patient medical records.

EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS & TRAINING
Essential criteria
1. English Language GCSE grade C or above, or equivalent
Desirable criteria
2. IT qualification
3. Administrative qualification
EXPERIENCE
Essential criteria
4. Experience of taking and responding to telephone enquiries from customers and within own organisation and prioritising as necessary
5. Six months experience of working within a customer care environment
6. Experience of using computers in a work environment
SKILLS, ABILITIES & KNOWLEDGE
Essential criteria
7. Computer literate with knowledge of Word and Excel
8. Good communication skills both verbally and written and the ability to readily understand instructions.
9. Demonstrate ability to organise own work load, prioritise and take initiative where necessary
10. Able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines whilst retaining accuracy and attention to detail
11. Logical approach to work, thorough and accurate
Desirable criteria
12. Knowledge of NHS Trust or general experience within the National Health Service
13. Understanding of Data Protection Act
14. Understands the need for patient confidentiality
