We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Nursery Manager to oversee the daily operations of our 80 place nursery. We are undergoing substantial growth and are expanding our fantastic management team across our two sites! The ideal candidate will possess strong management and leadership skills, along with a passion for early childhood education. This role requires a hands-on approach to nurturing and developing young children while ensuring a safe and stimulating environment.

About us:

Our two homely settings are situated in beautiful buildings, perfectly located for families in Ryton, Crawcrook and all the beautiful villages surrounding. We have an ambitious owner, present and involved in the running of the nursery every day.

We provide a secure, warm, and welcoming home-from-home environment where parents feel reassured to place their babies and children. We pride ourselves on our family feel, where babies and children are cared for as valued members of our nursery family. So often parents feedback that within minutes of visiting our nurseries they just had a feeling. They just knew this was where they wanted their children to be. We wish we could put a label on that feeling, but it is probably an accumulation of lots of feelings coming together when people visit our setting and meet our welcoming team.

We have an experienced Director and Management Team who will provide support to the successful candidate whilst settling in and beyond. One of our core values is 'working as one team'. We have an excellent team on which to build as we continue to grow our services in the local area.

Duties

* Manage the overall operations of the nursery, including staff management and scheduling.
* Lead and mentor a team of childcare professionals, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment.
* Develop and implement educational programmes that promote children's learning and development in line with early years frameworks, our bespoke curriculum and the Curiosity Approach.
* Ensure compliance with health, safety, and regulatory standards within the nursery setting.
* Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding children's progress, concerns, and nursery activities.
* Maintain accurate records of children's development, attendance, and any incidents that occur within the nursery.
* Organise activities that encourage social interaction, creativity, and physical development among children.
* Oversee the maintenance of the nursery facilities and resources to ensure a safe and welcoming environment.
* Support the Director and other Managers to upkeep our staff well-being programmes such as retreats, well-being days.
* Lead regular events and community projects in keeping with our community values.
* Have a good understanding of current topics and developments in research about children's learning and development.
* Be approachable and well organised.
* Enjoy being a role model to others so that we inspire future leaders and set an example of exemplary practise.

Qualifications

o Proven experience in management or leadership roles within a childcare or nursery setting.
o Strong background in early childhood education with relevant qualifications.
o Experience working directly with children in a nursery or similar environment is essential.
o Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written, to engage effectively with children, staff, and parents.
o A valid driving licence is preferred to facilitate transportation as needed for nursery activities.
o A genuine passion for nurturing children's growth and development through play-based learning experiences.
o Level 3 in Childcare or other relevant qualification.
