Your responsibilities
will include:
1. Working effectively with patients and colleagues to ensure the best care and treatment outcomes
2. Driving multidisciplinary care and leading and managing the CPA and ICR process of reviews
3. Contributing to service development and governance processes e.g. via quality improvement work
4. Building positive relationships with external stakeholders such as ICBs
5. Undertaking psychiatric assessments for women referred to the unit to determine if we can best meet their needs
6. Providing oral and written evidence at First-tier Tribunal and Hospital Managers’ hearings
7. Delivery of evidence-based treatment approaches in line with NICE guidance
8. Medication management
9. Co-production of therapeutic treatment plans with our service users
10. Participation in our 1 in 8 on-call rota that covers 2 tiers of support to 8 units across the Midlands and Yorkshire regions The on-call is entirely remote and mostly involves telephone support and advice.
To be successful as an applicant you’ll need:
11. MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
12. Full GMC registration with licence to practice
13. MRCPsych or MRCPsych equivalent approved by the Royal College of Psychiatrists
14. Section 12(2) approval, Approved Clinician status
15. Clinical training and experience required for gaining UK CCT.
16. Experience of assessment and management of patients in psychiatric rehabilitation settings.
17. Experience of working with autistic individuals and knowledge around their unique needs and adjustments required to manage their care in hospital.
18. Ability to take full and independent responsibility for the clinical care of patients

You will be working at the Farndon Unit, a hospital which offers personalised assessment and recovery-based treatment pathways for women with complex care needs.
The Farndon Unit provides care for women with a range of mental health conditions. You will be working alongside a multidisciplinary team offering personalised assessment and recovery-based treatment pathways, including a trauma specific pathway, for women with complex care needs.
The unit houses 47 beds across five wards catering for female patients with low secure care (Bolero and Cortland Wards), a high-dependency psychiatric rehabilitation unit (Aster Ward) and two acute wards (Ruby Frost and Darcy Ward).
