The Role: Prospero Teaching are looking for a compassionate special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) Teaching Assistant. The role won’t be 1:1 but will consist of working with a small class and will include children with Autism and Speech and Language difficulties.
Key Responsibilities:
* Behavioural Strategies : Implement positive behavioural strategies to encourage appropriate behaviour and reduce challenging behaviours.
* Communication Aids : Use communication aids, such as picture cards or speech-generating devices, to support children in expressing themselves.
* Language Activities : Engage children in language activities that promote vocabulary development and language comprehension.
* Listening Skills : Help children improve their listening skills through interactive activities and games.
To qualify for this role, you will need:
* Experience working with children, preferably in an educational setting.
* Good literacy and numeracy skills.
* Up-to-date Safeguarding training (desirable, but not essential as training can be provided).
* Right to Work in the UK.
* Enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service, or willingness to apply for a new one.
* Ability to provide two professional references.
