Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a number of Junior Clinical Fellows to join the Medical Services Directorate at Gateshead Health NHS Foundation Trust.
These posts are aimed at doctors who wish to gain more experience in medicine before committing to a specific career pathway.

Main duties of the job
The posts will be primarily based within the Medical Directorate, with opportunities to work in various medical specialties including Cardiology, Stroke Medicine, Elderly Medicine, Acute Medicine, Respiratory Medicine, Diabetes & Endocrinology, and Gastroenterology.

Job responsibilities
* Manage admission, clerking, and daily care of patients on the general medical wards as assigned.
* Participate in the on-call rota.
* Engage in audits and research projects available through consultants.
* Attend postgraduate activities, including weekly lectures, radiology, pathology meetings, and presentations.
* Teach Foundation Doctors and medical students at the bedside.
* Contribute to quality improvement projects.
* Maintain good working relationships with hospital staff.
* Respond to emergencies and unforeseen circumstances as requested by consultants, collaborating with colleagues of all levels.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* MBBS or equivalent
* Studying towards Part 1 of MRCP
Experience
* Completed Foundation Year 1 in the UK or equivalent
* Completed Foundation Year 2 in the UK or equivalent
* At least 1 year of NHS experience
* Experience at IM/CT/ST 1 level in the UK or equivalent
