Vehicle Dismantle Engineer Key responsibilities
As a Dismantle Engineer, you'll dismantle vehicles safely, recover reusable components, and refurbish key assemblies such as 5th wheels, radiator packs, brackets, pipework, and hydraulic fittings. Your work ensures parts are prepared, inspected, and ready for reuse across a live operational fleet.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely dismantle end:of:life vehicles
- Strip, inspect, clean, and refurbish reusable components
- Overhaul assemblies to operational standards
- Record all parts removed and support inventory
- Liaise with workshop and fleet teams to supply required components
- Maintain a clean, safe workshop and operate equipment correctly
- Assist with fleet repairs, reassembly, and waste management tasks
Vehicle Dismantle Engineer Experience Required
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem:solving ability
- Methodical, detail:focused approach
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Safety:conscious mindset
Preferred (Not Essential)
- NVQ Level 3 Heavy Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent
- Experience with heavy vehicles, plant, or component rebuilds
- Understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems
- Forklift licence (or willingness to train)
- Full UK driving licence
