The Role of the Electrical Section Engineer
* Report to the Department Engineer and collaborate with the production manager and quality functions to lead the engineering within your area.
* Engage with your team and technical specialists to support and improve operations.
* Maintain the engineering blueprint according to change and design control procedures, working effectively with stakeholders.
* Ensure compliance with Liberty Speciality Steels (LSS) policies and health, safety, and environmental legislation.
* Meet statutory and LSS requirements for all assets.
* Determine, monitor, and control engineering resources and materials needed for operations.
* Develop maintenance and inspection schedules.
* Provide technical support to production and quality managers.
* Identify development opportunities to enhance engineering and production performance.
* Assist in training and developing the engineering team.
* Lead investigations, identify root causes, and implement solutions for issues within your area.
* Monitor and drive KPIs for your area.
Requirements of the Electrical Section Engineer
* Performance-oriented with leadership potential and a drive for results.
* Ability to react swiftly and think proactively about asset management.
* Experience in plant engineering and maintenance, mentoring technicians.
* Electrical Engineering qualification (HNC or higher).
* Experience with three-phase systems, AC/DC equipment, and PLC systems (GEM, Allen-Bradley, Siemens).
* Knowledge of Remelt facilities including VAR, VIM, ESR, and heat treatment furnaces.
* Understanding of complex processes, machinery, and control systems.
* Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
* Risk management understanding.
* Root cause analysis and problem-solving skills.
* Experience with a CMMS.
Working Pattern
This is a day shift role, Monday to Friday, 8 am - 4 pm.
