A Manufacturing Engineer is required to join an international defence systems company that designs, manufactures, and supports world-leading military systems. The successful candidate will report to the Head of Quality and will be responsible for improving supply chain quality performance, managing supplier concerns, and leading APQP activities.
Key Responsibilities:
* Devise and own elements of the quality improvement roadmap.
* Support implementation and maintenance of systems and procedures.
* Ensure compliance with AS9100/ISO9001 standards.
* Lead quality improvement programs using tools like KPI analysis, FMEA.
* Record and review supplier quality performance data.
* Support new product introduction quality plans.
* Map and review processes, support robust process introduction using PFMEAs and control plans.
* Prepare and submit quality approval documentation.
* Collaborate with supply chain, engineering, and program management teams.
* Approve new products/services per company procedures.
* Manage non-conforming product incidents and root cause analysis.
* Ensure supply chain compliance with QMS and participate in supplier audits.
* Use R&R studies and SPC for process improvements.
* Support design reviews and cost estimation activities.
* Oversee manufacturing activities on-site and off-site.
* Supervise subcontract manufacturing engineering and inspection activities.
* Manage gauge calibration and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills:
* Minimum HNC/Degree in Engineering or related discipline.
* Experience in manufacturing or supply chain quality environments.
* Knowledge of APQP, PFMEAs, Control Plans, FAI Reports, and statistical tools like 8D, 5 Why, Six Sigma.
* Understanding of AS9100 and ISO9001 standards.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work independently and influence others.
* Security clearance (SC) is required.
