With a strong focus on safety, efficiency, and sustainability, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Plant and Fleet Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will hold a Transport Manager Certificate of Professional competence (CPC) and possess a comprehensive understanding of plant and fleet management within our sectors.
Primary tasks and duties:
Licence Compliance:
* Ensure strict adherence to regulations and standards.
* Maintain accurate records and documentation related to the O Licence requirements.
Fleet Management:
* Oversee the maintenance, inspection, and repair of the company's fleet of vehicles and plant equipment.
* Implement preventive maintenance schedules to minimise downtime and ensure optimal performance.
* Monitor fuel consumption, vehicle utilisation, and implement strategies for cost-effectiveness.
Regulatory Compliance:
* Stay abreast of industry regulations and ensure that all fleet operations comply with legal requirements.
* Liaise with relevant authorities and agencies to obtain necessary permits and licenses.
Budgeting and Cost Control:
* Develop and manage budgets for the plant and fleet department.
* Implement cost-effective strategies to optimise fleet operations and reduce expenses.
Team Leadership:
* Supervise and collaborate with teams.
* Conduct regular training sessions to enhance the skills and knowledge of the team.
Operational Support:
* Provide comprehensive support to operational teams, offering expertise and guidance to enhance overall efficiency.
* Collaborate closely with various departments to identify operational challenges and develop practical solutions that align with organisational objectives.
Skills and Experience
* Valid CPC qualification is mandatory.
* Proven experience in plant and fleet management, preferably in the Energy, Rail or Highways sector.
* Strong knowledge of licence regulations and compliance requirements.
* Excellent leadership and team management skills.
* Sound financial acumen with experience in budgeting and cost control.
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
* Problem-solving ability and a proactive approach to challenges.
* Familiarity with safety and environmental regulations.
* Computer proficiency, especially with fleet management software.
