Retail Store Manager
£27,309 - £32,114 plus benefits

Hours: Full time 37.5 hours per week
Location: Glasgow, Byres Road

About Cancer Research UK: We exist to beat cancer. We are professionals with purpose, but we need to go further and faster. We're looking for a talented, motivated store manager to join our trading team. You will act as an ambassador, motivating your team to meet sales and fundraising targets. Your store will be a community hub where people learn about our work and see our impact. You will be surrounded by people as dedicated to beating cancer as you are.
Key Responsibilities:
* Guide, inspire, and engage a team of paid staff and volunteers, including recruitment, retention, and development.
* Take ownership of the store's commercial operations, including display, merchandising, stock management, and maintaining standards.
* Lead by example, providing excellent customer and supporter service.
* Maximise profit through effective cost control and sales strategies.
* Build relationships with the local community and Cancer Research UK colleagues.
* Organise and run creative fundraising events to meet targets.
* Ensure compliance with health and safety, safeguarding, security, administration, and HR policies.
* Perform manual handling and physical activities as part of daily duties.
Candidate Requirements:
* Experience managing and inspiring a diverse team.
* Comfort working within targets and motivating others.
* Ability to multi-task in a lively environment.
* Knowledge of excellent customer service.
* Commercial awareness and understanding of high street fashion retail.
* Adaptability and ability to work independently.
* Awareness of item pricing, value, and worth.
* Flexibility to work on a rota basis to meet business needs.
