Overview
Mental Health Assistant - Aspiring Therapist role based in Wokingham, Berkshire. Full-time, ASAP start. Ideal for Psychology, Counselling or Criminology graduates seeking experience in Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) and complex needs.
Responsibilities
* Support SEMH pupils aged 4 to 11 in a specialist school with behavioural and mental health needs.
* Work alongside trained therapists, counsellors and psychologists; shadow sessions and learn on-site.
* Provide proactive, child-centred support; use initiative and demonstrate resilience when working with challenging behaviour.
Qualifications
* Degree in Psychology, Counselling, Criminology or a related field preferred; other subjects considered.
* Level 3 qualifications or higher required; a degree is highly desirable.
* Experience with SEN or SEMH settings is desirable but not essential.

* Hours: Full-time Mon-Fri, 8:30am – 3:00pm
* Salary: 85-100 per day
