ROLE SUMMARY:
We are delighted to welcome applications from outstanding, dynamic and suitably experienced individuals for the role of Guitar Teacher to be in post ready for the school opening in September 2025.
This is a superb opportunity for the right candidate to leverage their experience as a music specialist in a high-performing school environment to help establish world-class Music provision at Wetherby Pembridge. Working closely with the Founding Head of Music, the successful candidate will have an exciting role in helping to develop an innovative, ambitious and comprehensive Music programme for this exciting new chapter in the Wetherby Pembridge journey.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. To teach the highest quality individual music lessons to pupils
2. To promote musical excellence and enjoyment of music by demonstrating instrumental skills to pupils.
3. To ensure the safeguarding of all pupils, in line with the school’s safeguarding policy.
4. To ensure progress of all pupils by preparing and teaching lessons appropriately tailored for each student.
5. To have a clear knowledge and understanding of the requirements and marking criteria for music exams relevant to your instrument(s).
6. Use departmental systems of awards and monitoring concerns in order to communicate pupil’s progress and/or concerns with the Head of Music in a timely manner.
7. Where applicable, to communicate with parents pupil’s progress and/or concerns.
8. To direct ensembles and/or music activities when timetables allow and as per the request of the Head of Music.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
9. Bachelor's degree in Music.
10. Proven success in teaching instrumental lessons to various ages and skill levels.
11. Professional performance experience.
12. Professional standard in playing main instrument.
13. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
14. Strong organisational abilities to manage schedules, lesson plans, and student progress effectively.
15. Capability to adapt teaching methods to meet the individual needs and learning styles of students.
16. Commitment to maintaining high standards of professionalism and ethics in all interactions.
17. Flexibility in scheduling lessons to accommodate the availability of students and school timetables.
18. Genuine passion for music education and a desire to inspire a love of music in students.
