px Group has operated and maintained the Fellside Combined Heat and Power (CHP) plant located in Cumbria, since 2004, and also operates the 0.5 km high-hazard pipeline which is the main fuel supply to the site. The site is an upper tier COMAH installation forming part of the Sellafield COMAH enclave.
The Opportunity
We are now recruiting for an Engineering & Maintenance Manager. In line with business, client and legislative requirements you will provide, leadership and management of FCHP E&M philosophy, strategy, actions, results and compliance during all running states. You will successfully lead, direct, organise and manage the E&M Department to the requirements of the px Group Operating standard.
You’ll be supported with personalised on the job training, coaching, mentoring and twice-yearly development and performance reviews to help maintain & develop your contributions and competence.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
* Using the framework of disciplined maintenance as best practice, ensure the effective communication and understanding of E&M processes and systems by all department employees and personnel required to complete E&M tasks.
* Provide appropriate guidance and support for all major engineering and maintenance events at FCHP including outage and plant shut down, unplanned and planned events and incidents. Provide leadership regarding investigations, processes, procedural actions and communications.
* Ensure the controlled development, application and monitoring of site technical specifications, E&M policies and procedures appropriate to FCHP throughout its lifecycle.
* Lead and manage the FCHP E&M Department and other assigned personnel ensuring they meet the standards. Take overall responsibility for their supervision, development, welfare and engineering capability and competency in discipline areas and their ability to address technical requirements ensuring standard implementation.
* Degree in engineering discipline or engineering apprenticeship with extensive relevant experience and noted continued professional development.
* E&M experience in a 24/7 process at department head level.
* Identifying and managing engineering risk.
* Knowledge of Mechanical and Electrical engineering compliance and legislation, including ATEX & DSEAR.
* Understanding and driving the department for Key Performance Indicators as set with the working contract.
