Assistant Quantity Surveyor – Homes Built with Purpose
£47,000 per annum + benefits | Mulberry Park, Bath | Hybrid (3 days office-based)
Permanent | 37 hours per week

What You’ll Be Doing
* Taking full commercial responsibility for at least one live development scheme, from start on site, to final account
* Processing subcontractor orders, payments, variations and dayworks, and preparing works valuations
* Assessing and agreeing variations, ensuring value for money
* Monitoring costs, explaining movements within the site CVR, and reporting on savings and variances against budget
* Helping prepare tender and contract documents, running subcontract tender analysis, and supporting negotiations
* Attending and contributing to live scheme project meetings
* Contributing to cash flow forecasts, CVR reports and value engineering
* Working closely with Technical, Buying and Construction colleagues to manage Cost to Complete effectively
* Preparing subcontractor final accounts and contributing to lessons learned reviews

Essential
* Commercial experience in construction or housebuilding
* Working towards, or holding, a relevant qualification such as a Quantity Surveying degree, HNC/HND or equivalent
* Confident with numbers and analytical work, including Excel and commercial software used day-to-day in a QS role
* Clear communicator, comfortable working on your own when the job calls for it and alongside others when it doesn’t
* Full UK driving licence and access to your own transport for site visits
Desirable
* Working knowledge of masonry and timber frame housebuilding
* Understanding of JCT contracts
* Experience using COINS
* Experience taking off quantities from drawings
* A CSCS card (this can be obtained after starting)
