Role Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Nursery Manager to lead our setting with vision and heart. The successful candidate will ensure that our nursery provides a safe, inspiring, and homely environment where children can flourish. You will support staff to deliver exceptional care and education, while maintaining high standards of compliance, safeguarding, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Nurture
* Provide supportive leadership that fosters wellbeing and growth in both staff and children.
* Act as a role model, demonstrating empathy, patience, and professionalism.
Curiosity & Creativity
* Encourage an environment where curiosity is celebrated and creativity is nurtured.
* Oversee curriculum planning that inspires exploration and imagination, with a balance of child-led and adult-guided experiences.
Community & Growth
* Build strong relationships with families, creating a welcoming and inclusive nursery community.
* Support the professional development of staff through coaching, mentoring, and training opportunities.
Respect for Nature
* Champion outdoor learning and Forest School-inspired practice.
* Ensure children are offered daily opportunities to connect with nature and learn sustainably.
Operational Excellence
* Ensure all safeguarding, health & safety, and compliance requirements are consistently met.
* Manage staffing, budgets, and resources efficiently to support a thriving and sustainable setting.
* Work closely with the Director to bring the vision and values of Cherry Blossom Education to life.
Person Specification
Essential:
* Level 3 (or above) qualification in Early Years Childcare and Education.
* Proven experience in a senior role within an Early Years setting.
* Strong knowledge of the EYFS and safeguarding legislation.
* Excellent communication and leadership skills.
* A genuine passion for creating nurturing, creative, and nature-inspired learning environments.
Desirable:
* Forest School training or experience.
* Paediatric First Aid certificate.
* Experience supporting staff wellbeing and professional development.
