Title: Maternity Nurse in Harrogate Location: Harrogate, North Yorkshire, HG3 Start Date: Mon Feb 02 2026 Children: Baby due January 17th G8 G15 Salary: Excellent rate depending upon expereince Days/Hours: 10pm-7.30am 2 nights per week for around 12 weeks Employment Type: Temporary, Live out Duration: 12 weeks Schedule: Initially 2 nights per week (10:00pm – 7:30am), with potential to transition to 3 mornings per week during school term time for daytime and overnight support Experience Required: 10 years preferred A warm and welcoming family based in the beautiful village of Pannal, Harrogate are seeking an experienced and nurturing maternity nurse to support them as they welcome their third baby in early 2026. With two older children in the household and a friendly family dog, the family are looking for a calm, confident professional who can provide reassurance and gentle structure as they settle into life with their new addition. This role will suit someone who is kind, organised, and experienced in supporting parents post-C-section and guiding them through early feeding and sleep routines. The family would like support primarily overnight to allow mum to rest and recover after an elective C-section, with baby care and feeding managed throughout the night. As the family adjusts, the role may evolve to include daytime support a few mornings a week, providing flexibility for school runs and rest time but this has not yet been confirmed. Mum plans to breastfeed with a bottle top-up for the final evening feed, so a maternity nurse experienced in combination feeding would be ideal. There may also be the need to provide some initial support in the first few days at the hospital which will be confirmed shortly. Key Responsibilities Provide overnight baby care, including feeding, changing, and settling Support mum with breastfeeding, expressing, and combination feeding Offer gentle guidance and reassurance around newborn care and postnatal recovery Monitor baby’s sleep and feeding patterns and maintain appropriate records Ensure bottles, equipment, and baby items are clean, organised, and ready for use Provide practical support and advice on routine setting, sleep, and feeding Create a calm, nurturing environment for both mum and baby Respect the family’s privacy while maintaining professional boundaries Uphold excellent hygiene standards and a warm, respectful approach at all times Additional Information The family employ a cleaner, so focus will remain solely on mum and baby care.
