Job Title: Lecturer in Carpentry and Joinery

Overview
Reaseheath College is a forward thinking and dynamic College providing an excellent educational experience to over 4,500 students a year. Our Construction department offers a range of courses covering Plastering, Bricklaying and Joinery, with practical teaching to ensure students are industry focused and career ready.
About the role
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Carpentry and Joinery Lecturer to join our team of dedicated educators. The ideal candidate will have both industry experience and a Level 3 trade qualification, providing our students with practical insights and theoretical knowledge essential for success in the field. A teaching qualification is not essential, and the successful candidate will be supported to gain these qualification alongside their employment.
Key responsibilities:
•Develop and deliver engaging and innovative teaching materials for Carpentry and Joinery courses.
•Conduct practical demonstrations and workshops to enhance students' hands-on skills.
•Provide individualised support and guidance to students to foster their learning and development.
•Assess student progress through various methods, including assignments, exams, and practical assessments.
•Collaborate with colleagues to continually review and improve the curriculum to meet industry standards and trends.
•Maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment conducive to student success.
The successful candidate will:
•A Level 3 trade qualification in Carpentry and Joinery.
•Level 2 Maths & English or equivalent.
•Recognised Teaching Qualification (or be willing to work towards one).
•Substantial industry experience in carpentry and joinery, with a strong understanding of current practices and techniques.
•Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with students from diverse backgrounds.
•Commitment to upholding high standards of professionalism and integrity.

Reaseheath offers a full CDP programme with access to funded qualifications alongside hands on support whilst completing Further Education Training. Industry professionals joining the College in an academic role, will complete their Further Education Training whilst in post.
