Avalon Sciences Ltd is an established successful, dynamic company that designs and manufactures specialist equipment for the geothermal, carbon capture, and oil and gas exploration industries.
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounts Executive. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting the financial operations of our organisation, ensuring accuracy in the accounting records and maintaining efficient financial processes.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage the purchase ledger in terms of processing invoices and scheduling payment runs .
* Run sales ledger activities including processing invoices, collaborating with both UK and overseas customers to address payment queries and dealing with credit control.
* Complete quarterly VAT returns accurately and on time.
* Reconcile bank accounts within accounting software including foreign currency accounts.
* Liaising with an external payroll provider to provide information to ensure salary, tax and pension obligations are met in a timely and compliant manner.
* Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
* Provide support during internal and external audits.
* Collaborate with the UK finance team and those in our overseas subsidiaries.
* Assist with maintaining compliance with financial regulations and company policies.
* Undertaking of other general administrative and financial tasks as required.
Skills & Requirements
* AAT qualified or qualified by experience.
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial record keeping.
* Effective and proactive communication skills for interactions with colleagues, vendors and customers.
* Previous experience in an accounts assistant or accounts executive role is preferable, although candidates from practice will be considered.
* Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Pay: Competitive salary based on experience and ability.
