Community Children’s Nurse Clinical Educator
Band 6 – 37.5 Hours Per Week.

Our Clinical Education team is part of the wider children and young people’s community nursing service. You will join a team passionate about delivering excellent clinical nursing care to our patients in their homes, our special schools, and residential respite settings.
We are seeking a highly motivated, committed, and passionate individual to join our expanding Clinical Education team. You will work clinically alongside students, qualified nurses and children’s carers, facilitating their learning of new skills and knowledge. As part of the clinical education team you will have responsibility for facilitation and implementation of educational programmes.
Responsibilities
* Develop and deliver programmes of training and education for members of the CYP Community Nursing Service, students (undergraduate and postgraduate) and external agencies.
* Act professionally, developing the role of registered and non‑registered nursing staff in the best interests of the CYP’s and the nursing profession in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) Code of Professional Conduct.
* Maintain an identifiable clinical presence and undertake relevant clinical activities to maintain own clinical competency and support staff in developing their own practice.
* Ensure evidence‑based practice is developed and implemented to improve patient care and contribute to updating the Coventry and Warwickshire Children and Young People’s Competency Framework.
* Act as sign‑off mentor for pre‑registration student children’s nurses.
* Act as preceptor to newly registered nurses working in the service.
* Participate in the service on‑call rotas including supporting end‑of‑life care.
* Act as mentor and supervisor of junior staff and carers.
* Lead author for clinical policies and procedures.
Qualifications
* Registered nurse, confident in a range of clinical skills.
* Significant post‑qualification experience working with children and young people with complex health needs.
