Job Responsibilities
* Design, develop, and optimize robust manufacturing processes for new and existing products, ensuring efficiency, scalability, and repeatability.
* Define and document clear and effective Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and assembly/test documentation and procedures.
* Drive Design for Manufacturability (DfM) and Design for Test (DfT) reviews with R&D and product development teams.
* Lead thorough root cause analyses and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to resolve production issues.
* Continuously improve manufacturing efficiency, yield, and quality through lean and continuous improvement methodologies.
* Define and develop tooling, fixtures, and jigs to support efficient, high‑quality assembly and testing.
* Serve as the manufacturing engineering lead within cross‑functional NPI teams.
* Oversee pilot builds, validate production processes, and support smooth transitions to full‑scale manufacturing.
* Work with Procurement and Supply Chain to ensure component availability and early component manufacturability early in the design cycle.
* Work cross‑functionally with R&D, Quality, Test Engineering, and Operations to drive seamless integration across functions.
* Liaise with external manufacturing partners and suppliers as required.
* Ensure adherence to QEHS (Quality, Environment, Health & Safety, and IT Security) policies and procedures.
* Occasional UK and international travel (up to 4 weeks annually) for project support.
Job Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline.
* Proficient in manufacturing engineering tools such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and ERP/MRP systems.
* Certified or experienced in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies.
* Proven experience championing Lean principles and cost‑reduction initiatives.
* Strong analytical mindset – skilled at using data and metrics to drive decisions and validate process improvements.
* Excellent problem‑solving and root cause analysis abilities.
