Lead Teacher of Science

This excellent alternative provision is recruiting a Lead Teacher of Science to develop and deliver a tailored science curriculum for students who have been excluded from mainstream education.
This school seeks a Lead Science Teacher eager to participate in whole school life and support its mission to reengage students with education. The role involves managing a small team and ensuring quality assurance of the science curriculum. There is also potential for career progression to Assistant Principal, overseeing staff training and performance. Applicants must hold QTS as a Science Teacher; this role is not suitable for ECTs.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Leading a small team to develop and deliver an outstanding science curriculum for Key Stage 3 & 4 students with SEMH needs.
2. Teaching both theoretical and practical lessons.
3. Participating in the Senior Leadership Team to uphold high teaching standards.
4. Managing student behaviour according to the school’s behaviour policy.
5. Providing staff training, conducting performance reviews, and monitoring staff progress.
6. Leading and participating in whole school activities, including trips and wellbeing days.
7. Inspiring a love for science by using real-world examples to engage students.
