POSITION SUMMARY
The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for hands-on in-house construction projects to maintain and update commercial buildings in a manufacturing environment. Experience in HVAC, plumbing, framing, electrical, masonry, drywall, etc., is recommended. Willing to mentor candidates with some background in these areas.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

* Assist and/or lead in-house construction projects in a timely manner.
* Assist with HVAC, plumbing, framing, electrical, masonry, drywall, etc.
* Participate in commercial building and installation tasks.
* Take an active role in safety; assist with implementing and suggesting improvements; meet with contractors and review safety policies and procedures.
* Participate in research and investigations for new products.
* Assist with preventative maintenance, including changing filters, visual inspections, and replacing parts as needed.
* Identify maintenance or repair items that need resolution and prioritize with the Manager of Engineering Services.
* Assist with winter snow removal to ensure employee safety, as needed.
* Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Competency statements include analytical skills, effective communication (oral and written), conceptual thinking, attention to detail, initiative, judgment, and safety awareness.
SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
Experience: 3+ years in maintenance or construction.
Specific Experience: HVAC, plumbing, framing, electrical, masonry, drywall, etc.
Other Requirements: 30-hour OSHA Construction Course completed within 6 months of employment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Position involves frequent activity, including standing, walking, and manual manipulation, with specific weight lifting and activity levels detailed.
