Hours: 21 hours per week (0.6 FTE)
Location: 29-31 Montgomery Street, Belfast

Remuneration: £25,476 - £27,919 Pro-rata
Overall Purpose of Post
The Volunteer Engagement Co-Ordinator is responsible for volunteer retention and co-ordination across the organisation. The role will ensure that our data management strategy is followed, supporting monitoring, evaluation, and learning processes. The postholder will facilitate volunteer recruitment, induction, and support, contributing to service development and promoting good practice in service delivery, evaluation, and quality assurance, in collaboration with Service Leads & SMT.
Key Responsibilities
1. Volunteer Co-ordination
2. Follow recruitment strategy, refine processes, support all departments.
3. Oversee volunteer database, maintain effectiveness.
4. Maintain inventory of volunteer needs, match skills to projects, report on activities.
5. Process Access NI checks.
6. Work with department leads to keep role descriptions, training, and evaluation current.
7. Organize and deliver training as needed.
8. Develop new volunteer initiatives.
9. Promote the service locally and to the wider community.
10. Develop and maintain links with other agencies.
11. Implement activities for volunteer retention and recognition.
12. Maintain communication with volunteers, provide updates and feedback.
13. Monitor and report on volunteer activities and impact.
14. Stay updated on best practices.
15. Support policy reviews, ensure compliance with legislation and standards.
16. Promote diversity and inclusion in volunteer engagement.
Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning
Develop and support processes to assess outcomes, capture volunteer experiences, and evaluate impact, including surveys and case studies.
Quality Assurance and Development
Assist in reviewing and developing policies, promote good relations, and ensure standards are maintained and improved.
Data and Information Management
Follow reporting mechanisms, gather evidence, analyze data, and ensure GDPR compliance.
External Relationships
Build stakeholder relationships, attend external meetings, and develop partnerships.
General
Work as part of a team, promote the organisation, and perform other duties as required. Willing to undertake training, including safeguarding. Flexibility for evening and weekend work required.
Person Specification
Essential: Experience in training, event organization, managing people; GCSE English and Maths; strong communication, organizational, and IT skills; ability to work independently and in teams; empathetic and adaptable; valid driving license and access to transport.
Desirable: Experience in health/social care, community engagement, volunteer involvement, relevant qualifications, management training.
