The opportunity
We're working with a well-established heavy industry manufacturing supplier based in Doncaster to recruit an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer on a permanent, days-based contract. This is a hands-on role at the heart of a busy production environment, where planned and reactive maintenance is critical to keeping operations running. What you'll be doing
* Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across mechanical plant and equipment
* Diagnosing faults and breakdowns quickly to minimise production downtime
* Working on heavy industrial machinery including conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, hydraulics, and pneumatic systems
* Supporting and working alongside electrical maintenance colleagues on cross-discipline tasks
* Completing accurate maintenance records and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives
* Adhering to all health, safety, and environmental standards on site
What we're looking for
* Recognised engineering qualification - City & Guilds, BTEC, NVQ Level 3, ONC/HNC, or time-served apprenticeship
* Solid experience in a heavy industrial, manufacturing, or processing environment
* Strong mechanical knowledge across hydraulics, pneumatics, and rotating equipment
* Comfortable fault-finding independently and under pressure
* A proactive, safety-first mindset with good attention to detail
* Multi-skilled engineers with some electrical awareness are particularly welcome
