Senior Social Worker - Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP)

About the Role
The Senior Social Worker - Approved Mental Health Professional will be responsible for managing an intricate caseload of mental health clients within the older adult service. You will play a vital role in providing essential health and social care interventions, ensuring the highest standards of service delivery. This position involves commissioning appropriate care packages, conducting safeguarding investigations, and closely monitoring mental health status for relapse prevention and recovery. Additionally, the role requires being on the Central AMHP team rota, providing assessment and coordination under the Mental Health Act.
Candidate Responsibilities
As a Senior Social Worker - Approved Mental Health Professional, your key responsibilities will include:
* Managing a complex caseload of mental health clients aged 65 and older
* Developing and commissioning tailored care packages to meet individual needs
* Conducting safeguarding investigations to uphold client safety and wellbeing
* Monitoring mental state for relapse or recovery, adjusting care plans accordingly
* Participating in the Central AMHP team rota for assessments and decision-making under the Mental Health Act
Candidate Requirements
The ideal candidate will have:
* HCPC registration as a Social Worker
* Proven experience working with mental health clients, particularly older adults
* Strong knowledge of the Mental Health Act and safeguarding procedures
* Excellent assessment and communication skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team

* Competitive pay rate of £34.09 umbrella per hour inclusive of Holiday pay or 27.09 PAYE excluding holiday pay
