This is a newly created role in the Innovation Development Department, within the Research and Innovation Directorate. Reporting to the Commercial Development Manager, this post will support the delivery of commercialisation through spin-outs, licensing and other appropriate forms of commercialisation. The ideal candidate will have direct or transferable experience in commercialisation, tech transfer, research and innovation, start-up support, etc, as well as outstanding communication and organisational skills.
In this role, you will:
1. Work closely with the Commercial Development Manager, Research & Innovation (R&I) and academic colleagues, to increase awareness of, and engagement with, the University's Intellectual Property (IP) commercialisation support
2. Support colleagues to develop and deliver strategies to improve the entrepreneurial environment at the university, leading to increased commercialisation activity
3. Manage the University's intellectual property portfolio, ensuring maximum benefit from the commercialisation of our research and innovation
4. Serve as a point of contact for academic and professional services colleagues engaged in commercialisation, providing high-quality service and advice. Liaise with internal and external stakeholders and providers
5. Continuously develop your skills and knowledge through training and working with communities of practice internally and with regional partners
