Position Title: Production Operator
Location: Dukinfield Onsite
Hours: 8am - 5pm
Overview
The Production Operator reports to the Production Manager/Supervisor and is responsible for operating production equipment and associated processes, including preparation of raw materials, packaging, unloading, labeling, and quality control. The role ensures compliance with company standards, legal requirements, and safety procedures while maintaining high product quality and operational efficiency.
Primary Responsibilities
* Prepare and review raw materials and packaging for accuracy in weight, type, and lot/batch numbers before processing.
* Operate equipment according to process instructions, including loading, sampling, unloading, and packaging.
* Document production figures to meet traceability and legal requirements.
* Perform product quality control, making adjustments per procedures and reporting issues to supervision.
* Follow work instructions to maintain consistent operating conditions and high-quality outputs.
* Package finished products per instructions, ensuring correct labeling and visual appearance.
* Maintain machinery and work areas in a clean, safe condition.
* Adhere to all company Quality, EHS, and operating procedures, reporting any deviations.
* Support peer compliance and encourage high-quality production standards.
* Complete required training documentation and perform additional tasks as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
* Basic qualifications such as GCSE or similar
* 3+ years of experience as Production Operator within chemical, food or equivalent industry
* Knowledge of common software programs (e.g., MS Office).
* Ability to read and understand work orders, process instructions, safety regulations, and quality procedures.
* Good maths and English skills
Preferred Requirements
* Knowledge of chemical mixing and packaging processes.
Physical Requirements
* Ability to stand for extended periods, walk, climb stairs, bend, stretch, and reach.
* Regularly lift up to 50 pounds; up to 100 pounds with assistance.
* Work in environments with normal levels of temperature variation, dust, smell, and noise for chemical operations.
