Job Description
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic member of staff to join our administrative and clerical team, supporting our Orthotics, Physiotherapy, Occupational therapy, Dietetics, Speech and language Therapy departments. In this role you will offer a person‑centred approach while providing a full range of reception, administrative and clerical duties to support the efficient and effective running of the Therapy and outpatient departments at Barnsley Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (BHNFT).
Key Responsibilities
* Maintain a high standard of professionalism while performing reception duties for our Therapy and outpatient services at BHNFT.
* Deal with enquiries and provide information to members of the public both face‑to‑face and over the telephone.
* Maintain an efficient appointment system for several out‑patient therapy areas, including booking, cancelling and re‑arranging appointments, recording patient referrals and using our digital systems.
* Support the appointment and reception process for apprentices studying for NVQ Level 2/3. Apprentices will receive a trainee rate (75% of band) until the completion of their apprenticeship.

Knowledge and Awareness
* Knowledge of health and safety.
* Knowledge of confidentiality.
Experience
* Face‑to‑face contact with the general public.
* Reception experience.
* Excellent verbal and telephone communication skills.
* Previous Acute Trust NHS experience in a similar area.

Qualifications
