The Finance Business Partner will work with key stakeholders across the business, managing accurate financial reporting, forecasting & budgeting processes for the Operations (DL & Strathearn) and Sales & Marketing functions.
They play a critical role in providing financial insights, analysis, and support to aid the respective teams to drive operational efficiency, cost control, and business performance, whilst supporting strategic initiatives.
This role will report directly to the Head of Finance with a dotted line relationship to both the Operations and Sales & Marketing functions.
Responsibilities:
Operations
* Key month-end activities including journals, analysis, KPI reporting and commentary
* Monthly cost centre reviews and associated analysis with budget-holders, partnering with them to enable an understanding of variances & trends versus budget/forecast as well as building first line financial knowledge
* Monthly COGS and packaging materials variance reporting (usage and purchasing)
* Own the annual Operations budget & forecast process
* Provide analysis and support on costing of 3 rd party customer products & pricing agreements
* General maintenance of the Strathearn fixed asset register
* Drive financial acumen, building strong working relationships with key stakeholders
* Identify profit improvement initiatives offering guidance on potential areas of spend mitigation and support lean manufacturing/continuous improvement programme
* Work closely with the Operations teams to ensure successful delivery of the annual stock take process
* Support the delivery of key strategic projects
* Issue Sales report and supporting analysis to enable an understanding of performance across the business
* Prepare the annual Sales Budget and forecast
* Business partnering including pricing analysis & interpretation
* Involvement in the NPD process to agree target COGS and ensure anticipated margin analysis is accurate
* Work with the team to implement reporting improvements that will add value
* Drive financial acumen building strong working relationships with key stakeholders
* Support the delivery of key strategic projects
Key Skills and Competencies:
* Excellent numerical and financial acumen
* Accurate with meticulous attention to detail
* Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong working relationships with key stakeholders and work in teams
* Strong analytical skills – effective use of data to quickly analyse and interpret
* Prior experience of using Power BI (desirable)
* Able to manage conflicting workload often of equal importance
* Capable of challenging and influencing a broad range of stakeholders
* Self-starter, proactive and motivated
* Confident and comfortable when explaining complex concepts to non-finance stakeholders
Experience and Qualifications:
* Part qualified or newly qualified Accountant with a recognised organisation
* Commercially minded Business Partner with knowledge of manufacturing and product costing theory & application
* Spirits industry background (preferred)
