SEN Teaching Assistant – Eastbourne

Salary: £90 - £100 per day

About the Role
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in helping pupils with additional needs access learning and thrive in the classroom. You’ll be supporting the class teacher and working 1:1 or in small groups to help children engage with their lessons, develop key life skills, and build confidence. This is an ideal role for someone with patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping young people succeed.
Responsibilities
* Provide tailored 1:1 or small group support to pupils with SEN.
* Assist in implementing individual learning plans and behaviour strategies.
* Support the class teacher in creating a safe, structured, and positive learning environment.
* Encourage social and emotional development through positive interaction.
* Assist with personal care when required.
* Help monitor and record student progress to ensure their needs are met.
Qualifications and Experience
* Previous experience supporting children with SEN in a school or care setting is highly desirable.
* Strong understanding of autism, ADHD, or SEMH needs.
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
* A proactive, calm, and patient approach to supporting learners.
* A valid DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one.
