Grateley House School
Grateley House School is a successful, ‘good’ rated, 38-week residential special school for young people (age11-19) with a diagnosis of Autistic Spectrum Disorder; typically, high functioning and/or associated disorders.
The school is currently made up of 36 students and will be going through an exciting period of growth over the next three years.
We offer a curriculum to students in Key Stage 3, 4 and 5. The school follows the National Curriculum and we support students to gain outcomes equivalent to mainstream.
Job Role
We offer a broad and enriching curriculum to our students and currently require an enthusiastic and committed teacher.
You will have a flexible, creative and practical approach to learning and be responsible for developing individualised / small group programs. Class sizes are no more than 7 students, with dedicated TA support and you will be working as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
Successful candidates will be a part of a supportive team who work across Education, Care and Therapeutic services supporting each other's practice to develop specialist services to those with additional and complex care needs including: Autism and associated difficulties. Candidate Profile
A good knowledge of the ScienceH National Curriculum, experience of teaching up to GCSE level is essential.
An understanding of the Autistic Spectrum Disorder and/or experience of working with children/young people with additional needs is an advantage.
Applicants must hold QTS or Equivalent - we are looking for a qualified experienced Teacher.
