Yolk Recruitment is recruiting a Competence and Resource Manager for a 12-month contract in Filton, Gloucestershire.
The Commercial & Contracts Manager will support the Senior Commercial Manager across various contracts, including those with the European Space Agency (ESA), UK Government, UK Ministry of Defence, and private corporations. Responsibilities include managing all commercial and contractual aspects of assigned opportunities, bids, and contracts within this diverse program.
The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, solution-oriented, and possess excellent communication skills to engage with stakeholders internally and externally. Experience in preparing winning proposals, customer negotiation, and maximizing profitability on contracts in a growing market is essential.
The role involves working on a range of opportunities, from small study and framework contracts to large prime proposals. Support to other bid/delivery team members and establishing processes for smooth proposal and contract management may also be required.
Missions and Activities
* Manage all commercial and contractual aspects of opportunities and contracts, including those with ESA, UK Government, UK MOD, and private sector.
* Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver profitable solutions, highlighting and mitigating risks, and ensuring governance compliance.
* Handle commercial aspects of business acquisition and bidding, including bid preparation, contract review, and negotiations.
* Advise procurement on contractual obligations and risks, ensuring proper flow-down and mitigation.
* Manage existing contracts to ensure performance, change management, and timely invoicing.
* Build and maintain relationships with customers for smooth contract operation.
* Provide flexible support to the wider business for commercial guidance.
* Apply commercial best practices ethically and efficiently.
* Operate independently for extended periods, knowing when to seek advice on commercial issues.
Candidate Requirements
* Degree or equivalent in a relevant business-related field.
* Experience in sales, bidding, procurement, or commercial roles.
* Experience working with UK MOD, government, and non-governmental clients.
* Proven ability as a self-starter with high-quality work delivery.
* Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
* Excellent stakeholder management and influencing abilities.
* UK Security Clearance may be required.
