Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dynamic Activities Coordinator to join our team in providing enriching experiences for residents in day centre. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in senior care, including experience with dementia and Alzheimer's care. This role is crucial in enhancing the quality of life for our residents through engaging activities that promote social interaction, mental stimulation, and physical well-being.
Responsibilities
* Develop, implement, and oversee a comprehensive activities programme tailored to the interests and needs of residents.
* Coordinate and lead group activities, including arts and crafts, games, exercise classes, and outings.
* Collaborate with staff to ensure that activities are inclusive and accessible for all residents.
* Assess the individual needs of residents to create personalised activity plans that cater to their abilities and preferences.
* Maintain accurate records of participation and feedback to continually improve the activities offered.
* Create a warm and welcoming environment that encourages resident engagement and socialisation.
* Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff to promote upcoming events and gather input on future activities.
Requirements
* Previous experience in assisted living or nursing home settings is essential.
* Strong background in senior care, with specific knowledge of dementia and Alzheimer's care preferred.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with residents, families, and team members.
* A genuine passion for caregiving and enhancing the lives of seniors through meaningful activities.
* Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
* Creative thinking skills to design innovative programmes that engage residents.

Desired Qualifications.
NVQ Level 5 – or be willing to enrol/be working towards.
NVQ Level 3 certificate (Essential)
2 years hands on Senior Care / Management experience (Essential)
To be academically able to fulfil the tasks related to the position.
To be able to supply two satisfactory references and a clear enhanced DBS check prior to employment commencing.
