MAINTENANCE ENGINEERS REQUIRED IN ELLESMERE PORT, CHESHIRE!!
We are seeking Electrically biased Maintenance Engineers / Shift Engineers / Shift Maintenance Engineers for a leading FMCG manufacturing business in Ellesmere Port. The role offers 4 on 4 off shifts (2 days and 2 nights) with a salary of £54,000 – £58,000 per annum (DOE) and overtime opportunities.
The successful candidate will be Electrically biased and hold either: 18th Edition, a Level 3 or Level 4 Engineering qualification (preferably a HNC or equivalent) in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or be Apprenticeship trained or time served. We are looking for candidates who can fault find competently on PLCs and have both Electrical & Mechanical capabilities.
Please note: location is Ellesmere Port, Cheshire, UK.
What You Will Do
* Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental standards, promoting a culture of zero harm and safe working practices.
* Develop and implement preventative and predictive maintenance programmes to minimise downtime and optimise equipment performance.
* Troubleshoot equipment and process issues, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions to improve operational efficiency.
* Collaborate with the production team to ensure maintenance and changeover tasks are completed within agreed timeframes.
* Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, using tools and techniques such as 5S, TPM, and Kaizen to enhance processes and equipment performance.
* Maintain a high standard of housekeeping and ensure the proper segregation of waste from engineering activities.
What You Will Bring
* NVQ Level 4 / HNC (or equivalent) in Mechanical or Electrical Maintenance, with a solid foundation in multi-disciplined skills.
* Strong fault-finding and problem-solving abilities, with experience in PLC diagnostics and ladder logic.
* Proficiency in reading complex electrical and engineering drawings.
* Demonstrated commitment to safety and implementing equipment improvements.
* Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to teamwork and continuous improvement.
