Duty Manager
Serco Leisure is recruiting Duty Managers to help run Hinksey Outdoor Pool during the busy outdoor swimming season. This is a hands‑on, customer‑facing leadership role, ensuring the pool operates safely, efficiently and to the highest standards.
You’ll lead operational teams, manage daily activity, respond to incidents and emergencies, and provide a visible management presence across the site. Safety, customer experience and teamwork are at the heart of this role.
Key Responsibilities
* Open and close the site and maintain security
* Supervise and deploy lifeguards and operational staff
* Ensure compliance with health & safety and outdoor pool procedures
* Respond to accidents, incidents and emergency situations
* Deliver excellent customer service and handle customer feedback
* Carry out site checks and maintain standards of cleanliness and presentation
* Support cash handling and basic financial procedures
* Assist with staff training, rotas and absence management
What We’re Looking For
* Experience in a leisure, aquatic or supervisory role
* Confident leader who stays calm under pressure
* Strong customer service and communication skills
* High standards of health & safety awareness
* Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
Essential Qualifications
* NPLQ
* Pool Plant Operators Qualification (PPO)
* First Aid at Work including AED
