Tax Technology and Data Operations Manager – EY Belfast, Northern Ireland, United Kingdom
Overview
We are building a global tax center of excellence focused on delivering exceptional client service across borders. The Tax Technology and Data Operations (TDO) team works with complex multi‑jurisdiction clients, providing specialist tax, business and technology expertise.
Responsibilities
* Drive market success by adopting and championing new technologies, tools and ways of working; work directly with clients and account teams.
* Develop design and architecture of technology and data solutions, ensuring alignment with global standards.
* Manage client accounts end‑to‑end, from implementation through service delivery, ensuring successful deployment of agreed solutions and overseeing ongoing operations.
* Contribute to evolution of firm‑wide tools, technologies and processes through deep business insights and technical expertise.
* Responsible for TDO activities across the full engagement lifecycle: proposal writing, pitches to client, managing resources, defining and driving processes to deliver services, leading daily operations on client projects.
* Work with a broad network of account, tax technical, financial and tax compliance teams.
* Support the evolution and implementation of new technologies and standards to transform service delivery.
* Deploy and position market‑leading technologies and solutions internally and directly to clients.
Qualifications
* Strong client relationship management skills and ability to develop high‑quality outputs.
* Experience in technology deployment models (requirements, design, implementation) and data management/operations.
* Experience delivering complex client projects involving technology, transformation and data operations.
* Experience working in and managing virtual teams across multiple locations.
* Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a client‑facing environment.
* Effective time management and composure under pressure.
* Creative problem‑solving with a technology, data and automation lens.
* Effective collaborator working with a broad group of stakeholders.
* Clear communication of technical and complex messages in simple terms.
Skills & Attributes
* Degree level qualification in accounting and/or tax or proven work record in a professional services environment.
* Knowledge of data automation, transformation, cloud computing, compliance technologies.
* Experience or understanding of core ERP systems such as SAP and Oracle.
* Business development skills, ability to present and pitch ideas internally and externally.
