About the role:
Our Pricing Department is a well-established, thriving function focused on delivering long-term value rather than short-term profits. This role is within the Motor Pricing team, primarily focusing on the formulation and execution of pricing strategies for Motor products, especially Tractor, with influence over Car and Commercial vehicle pricing. Key responsibilities include assessing and enhancing pricing models and determining final customer prices.
As a Street Pricing Consultant, you will lead a small team responsible for recommending and managing motor portfolio pricing strategies. This involves analyzing internal and external data, utilizing various pricing models, and collaborating with teams such as Data, Modelling, and Risk Pricing, as well as external stakeholders including Underwriting, Distribution, Claims, and Finance.
You will monitor and improve the accuracy of pricing models, conduct scenario planning, and assess the impact of pricing decisions on metrics like conversion, retention, and profitability. Additionally, you will manage and mentor a team of analysts, supporting their development and technical queries.
About you:
You should be a commercially minded, customer-focused professional with extensive experience in the General Insurance sector, particularly in Insurance Pricing within motor insurance. A proven ability to analyze complex data, draw conclusions, and deliver sound recommendations is essential. Experience in product ownership is desirable.
You must consider all relevant internal and external factors to formulate comprehensive market views and set prices aligned with NFU Mutual’s policies. Competence in Radar and experience with price optimization are advantageous.
Excellent communication skills are required to build stakeholder relationships, navigate challenging conversations, and influence decisions effectively.
