A position exists, for a Senior Research Associate in the Department of Engineering, to work on visual stress and its implication on design.
The post holder will be located in Central Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, UK.
The key responsibilities and duties are to help specify and conduct experiments to understand the impact of colour on perceived comfort and neurological response when performing tasks. This will include the use of intuitive colorimetry, brain imaging using fNIRS and facial expression analysis.
The skills, qualifications and experience required to perform the role are experience in the diagnosis and treatment of visual stress and the ability to operate an intuitive colorimeter. Experience in the specification, operation and analysis of different experimental approaches to understanding visual stress including the use of EEG and fNIRS to assess neural correlates for visual discomfort.
Appointment at Senior Research Associate level is dependent on significant experience as a postdoctoral research associate or equivalent, with proven impact from authored publications.
