Job Overview
As a Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing compassionate and personalised care to individuals in their homes or care homes. Your primary responsibility will be to support clients with daily living activities, ensuring their comfort and well-being. This position requires a dedicated individual who is able to communicate effectively and work collaboratively within a team to deliver high-quality care.
Duties
- Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Support clients with mobility and physical activities, ensuring their safety at all times.
- Help with meal preparation and feeding, adhering to any dietary requirements outlined in care plans.
- Maintain accurate records of client progress and report any changes in health or behaviour to the appropriate personnel.
- Engage clients in social activities and companionship to promote mental and emotional well-being.
- Drive clients to appointments or social outings as needed, ensuring they have safe transportation.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to implement care plans effectively and provide feedback on client needs.
Skills
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to converse in English fluently.
- Experience in home care or working within a care home setting is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with creating and following care plans tailored to individual needs.
- Basic IT skills for maintaining records and communicating effectively with team members.
- Empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for helping others are essential qualities for this role.
