Your New Role
As a Maintenance Team Leader / Supervisor, reporting to the Maintenance Manager, your main duties will include:
1. Providing engineering resources for planned preventative, predictive, and breakdown maintenance, repairs, refurbishment, installation, and upgrades to minimize downtime and optimize equipment performance.
2. Developing a culture of continuous improvement to reduce engineering downtime and maintain high plant availability, efficiency, and quality.
3. Ensuring all engineering work adheres to high standards of Engineering, Quality, Safety, and Hygiene.
4. Managing interactions with employees at all levels and liaising with departments like Production and Engineering Managers.
5. Ensuring structured and effective handovers between shifts.
6. Ensuring all activities comply with safety, quality, and legal standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Work across mechanical and electrical trades as qualified.
2. Perform fault diagnosis and breakdown repairs on plant and machinery.
3. Carry out planned maintenance, modifications, and upgrades.
4. Utilize and develop the CMMS system.
5. Involve in project work as required.
6. Liaise with suppliers and update documentation.
7. Support change management, safety checks, and team coaching.
8. Lead or participate in CI initiatives to improve processes and safety.
9. Obtain and sign out Permits to Work.
10. Provide comprehensive handovers and ensure compliance with audits.
11. Perform other duties as needed, respecting safety and quality standards.
Health and Safety
Adhere to all health and safety regulations, take responsibility for safety checks, monitor staff behaviors, and contribute to a safety-conscious culture.
Qualifications
* Engineering City and Guilds, ONC, NVQ Level 3, or equivalent apprenticeship with practical experience.
* 17th Edition Wiring Regulations.
* Level 2 H&S awareness.
* Understanding of risk assessments and safe working procedures.
Experience
* At least 3 years as a skilled maintenance technician.
* Practical experience in engineering functions.
Skills and Knowledge
* Knowledge of H&S requirements related to engineering.
* Experience with CMMS.
* Broad knowledge of engineering disciplines.
* Problem-solving skills and ability to operate under pressure.
* Good communication, decision-making, and teamwork skills.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
* Knowledge of Permit to Work and Lock Off procedures.
