An exciting opportunity has arisen to be part of a new operating theatre team for Maternity. The Trust provides care to women in York, North Yorkshire and the East Coast, with an increasing demand on Caesarean Sections (elective and emergency).
Responsibilities
* Demonstrate and develop clinical assessment skills and the ability to prioritise the care for patients undergoing a surgical / anaesthetic procedure.
* Actively support patients and their families, communicating clinical information using a variety of methods, to ensure effective understanding.
* Contribute to the continuing development of patient care within the operating theatres, e.g. through sharing knowledge and expertise as required.
* Prepare and organise clinical area to receive patients for elective and emergency.
* Safely identify, prepare, check and assemble equipment required for the relevant operating list.
* Responsible for adhering to the NMC / ODP professional Code of Conduct.
Qualifications
* 3 years’ experience in Maternity Theatres, or 3 years’ experience in Gynae/GI/Vascular or Urology Theatres.
* Part‑time hours available, minimum 23 hours per week (2 shifts per week).
* Valid Nursing and Midwifery Council PIN and HCPC Registration.
* Experience in a secondment or fixed‑term basis is acceptable, with possibility of becoming Permanent.
