About the Role
:
We are seeking a reliable and proactive Cleaning Manager to oversee cleaning operations within our Cambridge branch. The successful candidate will be to ensure that soft services and cleaning services provided to the facilities meet contract specifications and are delivered in a compliant and safe manner. The role involves working closely with teams to deliver client satisfaction, requiring frequent client interaction and motivating the workforce to consistently provide high standards of service.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Manager 15 sites within the University of Cambridge
2. Ensure full compliance with all relevant health and safety requirements, including acting as a safety representative for the soft service provision.
3. Support the broader operational management of the service, including covering for other managers and contributing to contract planning and development.
4. Ensure relevant Task Specific Risk Assessments are available for activities such as Work at Height, manual handling, slips and trips, and COSHH.
5. Make sure the correct materials, consumables, equipment, and plant are available to meet required standards.
6. Monitor, evaluate, and control the performance of all labour resources.
7. Ensure compliance with health and safety requirements, acting as a safety representative for the cleaning service.
8. Attend client meetings as required.
9. Carry out any other duties necessary for the effective delivery of the service.
Role Criteria:
10. Experience in the above duties
11. Good knowledge of cleaning techniques, equipment, and COSHH regulations
12. Strong people management and leadership skills
13. Previous experience in cleaning or facilities management
14. Can demonstrate and understanding of PPM and cyclical maintenance.
15. Experience of Sub-contractor and resource management.
16. Excellent communication and organisational skills
17. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
18. IT literate with good attention to detail
19. Polite, professional, and able to follow instructions
