Role Overview
We are looking for someone to join us as an Assistant Forensic Scientific Officer within our Drugs Unit – in our Tri-Force Forensic Alliance.
About the Team/Department
A small specialised, dedicated team based in Bridgend South Wales Police HQ.
Work is Monday to Friday 8-4, with a degree of flexibility required for additional hours.
About the Role and Your Key Responsibilities
Maintain reagent and stock levels and carry out general laboratory upkeep, cleaning, and environmental monitoring.
Undertake the examination of exhibits relating to suspected drugs following an agreed strategy set by a Forensic Scientist.
Provide simple forensic reports based on testing to assist the courts.
Skills and Experience
Background in chemistry and previous laboratory experience.
Transferable working forensic skills and understanding are attractive.
