We currently have the opportunity to join East Suffolk Council's Housing Needs Team as a Navigator. The role: The postholder will deliver intensive, specialist support to single homeless applicants who are chaotic in their lifestyle and poor in engaging with conventional care, support services and provision. The postholder will work towards stabilising individuals and to improve their accommodation pathways, their health and reduce offending behaviour. The role serves as an intensive, persistent, with a person-centered approach, focusing on building trust to help individuals move away from long-term rough sleeping and into stable housing. Unlike traditional outreach, Navigators will provide long-term, flexible, and holistic support, navigating fragmented systems to address housing, complex health, substance misuse, and social needs. What you will need: The postholder will need substantial experience of working with a range of statutory and voluntary organisations in a Housing Related Support context and hold experience of working with complex and challenging caseloads and individuals. The postholder will need to have the ability to carry out thorough and comprehensive assessments and make decisions about referrals to the service, using standard professional tools and a working knowledge of safeguarding adults and children. The candidate will have previous housing experience and can demonstrate working to the required level of responsibility and have an understanding of the Homelessness Reduction Act (2017).
