As Sales Manager, you will lead and oversee the bid team to secure work, meet revenue targets, and contribute to the company's overall success. Your primary responsibilities include:

Contributing to the overall business strategy, you will use sales data, market insights, and customer feedback to influence decisions and ensure alignment with market opportunities.
Areas of Responsibility
1. Sales Delivery
2. Propose, plan, and implement sales strategies for each bid
3. Assess customer enquiries to determine bid success potential
4. Coordinate with Regional CSO and Sales Teams
5. Negotiate and secure contracts to meet business targets, with support from proposal and legal teams
6. Stay informed about industry and market trends
7. Provide customer and budget estimates
8. Customer Management
9. Act as the primary contact with customers, develop relationships, and conduct regular visits
10. Identify new business opportunities and key decision makers
11. Manage customer expectations and bid timelines
12. Maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders
13. Leadership
14. Lead the bid team and coordinate stakeholders, ensuring clear communication
15. Establish and guide local teams
16. Risk Management
17. Identify and assess risks, develop mitigation strategies, and review risk status
18. Ensure proper handover from Sales to Project Management post-acquisition

20. Manage the bid process within company procedures and authority limits
21. Oversee bid budgets to optimize sales spend
22. Align business requirements with legal and reputational considerations
23. Internal Stakeholder Engagement
24. Coordinate with internal teams on market and client needs
25. Work with Marketing/Communications on promotional materials
Skills and Experience
1. Understanding of the metals industry, especially blast furnace and decarbonization processes
2. Strong leadership and decision-making skills
