You will take ownership of sourcing, negotiating, and managing contracts for key equipment and services required, liaising closely with internal stakeholders, vendors, and contractors to align with project specifications and timelines.
Your new role
1. Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers for specialised equipment, materials, and services required
2. Prepare RFQs, manage tender processes, and ensure robust evaluation criteria are in place to select optimal suppliers.
3. Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions to secure cost-effective and high-quality agreements, while mitigating risks to the project.
4. Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, project management, and finance teams to ensure procurement aligns with project milestones and technical requirements.
5. Build and maintain strong partnerships with suppliers to ensure reliability, quality, and timely delivery of goods and services.
6. Monitor and control spend, ensuring procurement activities remain within the allocated budget.
7. Ensure all procurement activitiesply withpany policies, industry regulations, and environmental standards.
8. Provide regular updates to project management on procurement progress, including potential risks, delays, or cost variations.
What you'll need to succeed
9. Strong knowledge of large-scale industrial equipment and systems, ideally including electrical arc furnaces or similar technologies.
10. Excellent negotiation,munication, and supplier management skills.
11. Proven experience in procurement within heavy industry, manufacturing, or engineering projects.
12. Strongmercial acumen with the ability to manage budgets and contracts effectively.
13. Familiarity with relevant health, safety, and environmental standards.
14. Proficiency in procurement systems (, SAP, Oracle) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Desirable:
15. CIPS qualification or equivalent.
16. Experience with Engineering, Procurement, and Construction contracts.
