Technical Training Specialist – Electrical/Instrumentation

We’re looking for a Technical Training Specialist to support our Electrical and Instrumentation business areas and help shape the future of technical learning across our operations.
This is a hands on, specialist role where you’ll design and deliver high-impact training programmes that ensure our colleagues are safe, competent and confident in their roles.
What you’ll be doing:
* Supporting the development of training programmes for new and existing electrical/instrumentation roles
* Designing and delivering blended learning solutions mapped to water industry frameworks and regulatory requirements
* Conducting competence assessments to ensure safe and compliant operational performance
* Collaborating with Health & Safety partners and subject matter experts to review and enhance training content
* Supervising and monitoring colleagues during training to ensure safety and performance standards
* Building training plans that cover both initial and refresher needs across the business
* Producing lesson plans, schemes of work, and assessment criteria for internal programmes
* Maintaining relationships with accrediting bodies like Energy & Utility Skills
* Advising on the creation and management of technical Standard Operating Procedures, Asset Care Plans, and Health & Safety procedures
* Capturing and acting on delegate feedback to continuously improve training delivery
What we’re looking for:
* Demonstrable experience in electrical and/or instrumentation engineering
* Time-served or qualified to BTEC, NVQ, HNC or equivalent level
* Working towards or holding a recognised teaching or assessor qualification
* Strong knowledge of technical and health & safety requirements across electrical/instrumentation roles
* Experience developing and assessing technical competence and training content
* Familiarity with competence frameworks and regulatory standards
* Excellent communication skills across all levels of experience
* Self‑motivated with the ability to manage workload and business expectations
